Bank of Hawaii Announces New Senior Vice President Elizabeth Galbreath

Elizabeth Galbreath recently joined Bank of Hawaii as senior vice president and director of audit. She is responsible for leading the effort in elevating and challenging the bank’s internal audit functions and effectively assessing adequacy of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, asset protection, fraud prevention and operational efficiency.

As an experienced leader, Galbreath has more than 20 years of experience in audit, compliance, risk management and operational excellence in the banking industry. Prior to joining Bank of Hawaii, she served as audit director for USAA, where she oversaw large integrated audits within deposit products, operations and payments with a focus on operational, consumer compliance, fraud and technology risks. Galbreath also previously worked with Umpqua Bank for 14 years in a variety of roles, including Branch Banking, Internal Audit and first line risk management.

Galbreath earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Spanish from St. Olaf College in Minnesota. She also received her post-baccalaureate accounting certification from Portland State University. Galbreath is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and received her Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA).
